Particle shape is determined by visual observation of the Solder Powder with a binocular microscope at a set magnification in order to define the percentage of spherical or elliptical particles. IPS' Solder Powders do have sphericity exceeding 95% (97% minimum for 25-45 micron standard Powder grade). All particles are free from surface defect.

Particle Size Distribution

Particle size distribution of Solder Powders is measured by Granix image analyzer. This analysis determines the percentage of oversized and undersized particles as well as the overall particle size distribution with mean diameter and surface areas.
